Artist Statement
I am an abstract expressionist, principally painting with acrylics, gel mediums, & graphite pencil. I paint with a very loose brush, with paint that is malleable- whether thick or thin, washed or dripped- with a likely pencil line that manipulates my observation of nature, space, & natural & urban plein air creating richness & energy through abstract expressionism. I am obsessed with color and absolutely adore brilliant hues from across the entire color spectrum.I hope to convey interest, enjoyment, and pleasure for the viewer. I am local to central Grand Rapids with my studio just north of downtown and am married to my wonderful husband, Wally.
